christina3.jpgMy name is Christina Holm, and I'm born at the end of the fifties. I live alone with my son Andreas, he's gorgeous and 15 years old

We live in a flat with four rooms in 100 m², maybe it's a lot, but we have lived in a big house before and need space.

roseI love flowers, but my pollenallergy makes it almost impossible to me having living flowers indoors. But I can recommend artificial flowers for allergy sufferer. Outdoors it's easier, but strong smelling flowers and plants must be out of my way. I love the nature, but at springtime it's almost impossible for me to be there, and maybe some short times in summer.

kvinnaI love clothes as all women, but wonder sometimes who they are
who shall were the clothes the fashionindustry show us every year.

I have great demands on myself to do everything with the best result. I think nearly always twice before doing something, and I take good care about my things. I'm not a perfectionist, but I want everything to be done in the best way. Maybe this has something to do with my afraidnes of negative criticism? Therefore some work take some extra time, but the result is often very good. I hate to throw things away, and I keep often old things who is still working. I also don't like to do extremely cleaning work in the home. I like my home to be a places there we can do what we like, and not only as a show. Andreas hate cleaning his room, and I think he could be living in a garbagedump.

As an opposite, I am a very stubborn and impatient person. Then I have make my mind up, I want everything to happen directly. If I have to wait, I'm getting irritated and frustrated. If it is because of any other person who can't make their mind up, it's even harder. I have no problem to get things done, but feel sometimes that I have to little freedom of action in my work. You can read more about my work in another page.

I have a big interest in computers. I have always been interested in technics. I built my first computer from a kit, and it was Sinclair ZX80 in the end of the seventies. That was two years before the IBM PC was born. It had 1kB RAM and the basic-commands was pre-programmed on the buttons. Graphics wasn't invented yet, just plain text and the software wasn't so complex. But I had a simple flightsimulator in plain text. The software was stored in a taperecorder. I regret that I don't have that computer any longer.

My second computer did I by in 1981, it was a brand new Luxor ABC 80. 16kB RAM, a little graphics, taperecorder., printer and it was able to run word-processing and some games.

My third computer was a used Luxor ABC 800. 32kB RAM, graphics, a double external floppy 5¼", word-processing, database and some games.

My fourth computer was a new Amiga 500. A very powerful computer compared to the others. 1MB RAM, movable colorgraphics, internal 3½" floppy and sound. Word-processing, spreadsheets, database, paintprograms and a lot of games.

My fifth computer was a powerful PC 1990. It was a Intel 386-25, with 8MB RAM, 105MB SCSI HD. The software was a lot more powerful than the other computers. I think Windows was version 2.

My sixth computer wasn't really new, but a upgrade in 1995 to Intel 486-DX2/66.

After that the upgrades have been as follows. Summer/autumn 1995, I486DX2/75, I486-DX4/100, AMD486-DX4/120.

In spring 1996, Pentium 100, Pentium 166. Spring 1998, Pentium 233 MMX, spring 2001 AMD 1200 MHz. This is the status today, but for how long?

To connect a MIDI-instrument to the computer and compose music is very fun. Another thing who is fun and interesting is to surf on the Internet. There is a lot of new friends, and there is always something new to learn, even the English is improved.

Photography is a thing that I like a lot. There is so many beautiful things to perpetuate, firstly is nature- and aircraftsphotography.

I'm very interested in the Swedish Airforce, and I'm a volunteer second lieutenant in FVRF, the airforce volunteer association. There we learn leadership and practices kvalificated assignments under pressure. The education is usable even in the civilian life.

At the beginning of -98 I decided to study. I wanted to learn more about computer network. I studied at Semcon AB in Lund. The education was for 20 weeks, all litterature in english, and a high tempo. I was the only woman in a class of 18 students. The harmony in the class wasn´t what I expected. The students very often keep them for themselves, rather than helping each other, and reach the goal together. Sometimes I felt that every student kept solutions for themself, instead of sharing with the others.

The focus was for the certificationtests instead of lerning how and why the networksystem works. The time for labs was at a minimum, and it was necessary to have a network at home to test solutions, and doing experiments on.

Because of economical reasons I only had to choose two out of seven tests. The cost was 1 500 SEK, or about $190/each. I decided not to do Novell and win 95, and instead concentrate for the NT 4 Server test. I was nervous the testday, but it went just fine and I passed the test. The next test that I choosed was TCP/IP. A hard test, but very useful to have. I felt that I wasn´t going to make it days before the test, but I did the test anyway. I failed, but only three questions from the passing score. I was happy anyway, because it went better than I had expected. Anyway, I have the testreport that shows how close I was.

Now I´m looking for a suitable job, to get use of the teoretical knowledge.

I´m studying again in summer-autumn -99. This time in Malmo, and I´m going to take the MCSE title this time. It went well with the studies, and I got the MCSE title. I passed all the tests at the first try.
